Booklet Design Estimating and Printing
Comments about bookletsBooklets vary in size, use, ink colors and bindings. When filling our the attached estimating form you will be asked simple questions about page size, ink colors and pictures. Most of people know very little about binding. Some booklets are saddle stitched (machine folded to the specific page size and stapled on the crease of the fold) and others are bound with some kind of coil wire that enables the booklet to lay flat when opened. The kind of binding you choose depends on the use of the booklet. Saddle stitched booklets seldom exceed 64 pages because of the economics and mechanics involved in production. If it is intended to lay flat when opened it is best to choose a plastic or coil wire binding. If you want the booklet to lay flat and are unsure what binding to select tell the printer in job description of the web quote form about the intended use and that it must lay flat when opened. The printer will take into consideration the booklet life and intended use when making a recommendation.
In the coming weeks PrintUSA.com will be featuring samples from our design and printer clients. If you would like to submit a sample of your work I would be pleased to display it here. Space is limited to nine samples per month. Send a low resolution full size .gif images to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please limit your submission to the front cover and four pages. Make your subject line Booklets. Then in 200 words tell about the paper, the design, intended use, and your company.
In the meantime feel free to submit a request for a quote using the form below or cruise around the printusa.com web site via our Table Of Contents entry point below.
